Solange to Deliver Keynote at Yale University Event

Solange Knowles will be speaking at Yale University’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Center later this month  on January 26. The singer will deliver a keynote followed by a roundtable discussion for “Everybody Still Wants to Fly: Activism in Pop From Prince to Solange”.

Moderated by Yale University professor Daphne A. Brooks, the event is part of a three day conference: Blackstar Rising & The Purple Reign: Celebrating the Legacies of David Bowie and Prince.

This past Fall, Solange spoke at Stanford University alongside Melissa Harris-Perry. The two discussed the concept of #BlackGirlMagic and celebrated the Black is Beautiful movement.

Before her upcoming speaking engagement, Solange will perform at the Peace Ball on Jan. 19, at the the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C.

Solange’s speaking engagement is free and open to the public, taking place at Yale Law School Levinson Auditorium. Tickets are available here.
